Assessment and Therapy Provided in the Following Areas
We help children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, language disorders and specific learning difficulties to understand and successfully negotiate social communication and high level language skills.
AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS
Our speech pathologists can help both you and your child to understand the world around them better, develop logical strategies to deal with confusion and conflict, assist with social stories and routines to reduce anxiety, and teach cognitive strategies to help them deal with their own and others’ emotions.
We specialise in this vital area of literacy, which can cause problems with discriminating differences between speech sounds, being able to “filter out” background noise and developing good phonological awareness (sound/symbol) skills.
Build the skills required to make reading, writing and spelling easy and fun, including the development of sound/symbol association skills, scaffolding/mind maps, spelling rules, decoding and developing useful strategies for reading.
Both speech pathologists at Freedom of Speech have extensive experience in dealing with voice problems, whether they be due to incorrect use, physical damage or neurological conditions.
