Karen holds a B.Sp.Thy (Hons) and is a Member of Speech Pathology Australia. Karen works full-time at Freedom of Speech and believes strongly in empowering the community through information about communication difficulties. She always welcomes enquiries and is happy to give advice in any area of speech pathology. Karen has been a qualified speech pathologist since 1989, and has worked in hospitals, community health centres, disability and the private sector. Karen has been providing speech pathology services to all ages in the Hastings and Macleay since 1995, with specialties including stroke rehabilitation, autism spectrum disorders, voice disorders, auditory processing and learning difficulties.
Karen is an active participant of Speech Pathology Australia’s Professional Self-Regulation Program, which requires speech pathologists to constantly update and extend their professional abilities, and is also a long-standing member of the Mentoring Program, which provides advice and support to other speech pathologists.
